European Film Award Nominations 2006

Non che sia un premio così riconosciuto, ma per la cronaca e gli archivi si può riportare che sono state annunciate le nomination ai prossimi European Film Awards, che verranno consegnati il 2 dicembre a Varsavia.
Due gli italiani in gara: Emanuele Crialese per la regia di "Nuovomondo" e Silvio Orlando per l'interpretazione ne "Il Caimano".
Inutile puntualizzare che nessuno dei due sembrerebbe essere tra i favoriti.

A Brokeback Mountain e Crash i W.G.A.

"Brokeback Mountain" e "Crash" hanno vinto sabato notte i premi per le migliori sceneggiature assegnati dal Writers Guild of America. Larry McMurtry e Diana Ossana, adattando l'omonimo racconto di Annie Proulx, si sono aggiudicati l'award per il miglior script basato su materiale precedentemente pubblicato e/o distribuito, mentre Paul Haggis e Bobby Moresco hanno vinto nella medesima categoria, ma per la sceneggiatura originale.
Questo era l'ultimo significativo trofeo assegnato prima degli Oscar (5 marzo), che sanciranno il trionfatore dell'anno cinematografico 2005.
Nessuna grossa sorpresa, dato che "Brokeback Mountain" aveva già vinto il medesimo premio ai Golden Globes e "Crash" è stato lodato soprattutto per come è stato concepito a livello di script.
A questo punto, libero sfogo alle previsioni: "Brokeback Mountain" ha vinto TUTTO, ma proprio tutto quello che poteva vincere, pertanto potremmo dire che è lo strafavorito, ma attenzione... Pensiamo alla tematica del film stesso (scomoda per la Hollywood più conservatrice), pensiamo che all'Academy piace sovvertire i pronostici troppo scontati (anche se non in tutti i casi) e pensiamo anche alla pressione che certi media potrebbero esercitare, ed ecco che il gioco non è per niente fatto. Dal cappello a cilindro potrebbe infatti uscire un altro nome... E chi sarà se non sarà "Brokeback Mountain" a vincere? Azzardiamo? Beh, magari tra qualche settimana...

I vincitori dei S.A.G. Awards

Philip Seymour Hoffman per Capote, Reese Witherspoon per Walk the Line (mi rifiuto di chiamarlo con il ributtante titolo italiano), Paul Giamatti per Cinderella Man e Rachel Weisz per The Constant Gardener sono i vincitori della dodicesima edizione degli Screen Actors Guild Awards, mentre per quanto riguarda l'ensemble, ha vinto l'intero cast di Crash.
Cosa dire, a questo punto?
Che Philip Seymour Hoffman e Rachel Weisz sono davvero a un passo dal loro primo Oscar (scontata la candidatura), che Reese Witherspoon è ora favorita su Felicity Huffman (per Transamerica) e che l'attore non protagonista resta un incognita.
Ma attendiamo le nomination vere e proprie, e non quelle ipotetiche, che verranno annunciate domani, dopodiché inizieremo lo stressantissimo ma divertentissimo toto-scommesse.

Ang Lee vince il D.G.A.

Poche ore fa il Directors Guild of America ha nominato Ang Lee miglior regista del 2005 per il film Brokeback Mountain.
Questo importantissimo premio va ad aggiungersi al Leone d'Oro, conquistato a Venezia nel settembre 2005, al Golden Globe (film e regia) e al Producers Guild of America Award, vinto meno di una settimana fa.
A questo punto il film diviene il favorito obbligatorio per l'Oscar, le cui nominations verranno annunciate dopodomani alle 14,30 circa ora italiana.
Attenzione però perchè Ang Lee vanta uno sfavorevole precedente: già vincitore del D.G.A. nel 2000 per La Tigre e il Dragone (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), perse l'Oscar a favore di Steven Soderbergh (Traffic).
Vedremo.
Il prossimo premio cinematografico riferito al 2005 verrà comunque assegnato stasera: gli attesissimi Screen Actors Guild Awards, che da sempre forniscono valide indicazioni non solo per i nominati agli Academy Awards, ma anche (e soprattutto) per i vincitori.

I produttori dicono ...Brokeback Mountain

Dopo il Leone d'Oro conquistato a Venezia nel settembre 2005 e il Golden Globe vinto una settimana fa, Brokeback Mountain si è aggiudicato ieri il premio da sempre considerato la vera ed autentica anticamera dell'Oscar, e cioè il Producers Guild of America Award, assegnato dai produttori cinematografici al miglior film dell'anno.
Dal 1989 solamente in cinque casi il film vincitore del P.G.A. non ha poi vinto l'Oscar; ultimo caso, proprio l'anno scorso: la vittoria di "The Aviator" sovvertita dall'Oscar assegnato a "Million Dollar Baby", pellicola che ha letteralmente travolto e stravolto l'Academy nel mese precedente l'assegnazione dell'Oscar stesso.
Vedremo come andrà a finire quest'anno...

Poche sorprese nella Golden night
